Art Education

My work centers on the intersection of education, access to the arts, and dismantling systemic inequities that disproportionately impact students, especially those of the Global Majority.

You can discover additional information about my involvement in art education initiatives both within and beyond the Los Angeles area.

I am a cultural worker experienced in arts education, community and museum partnerships, program coordination, and collaboration with cultural institutions.

During my free time, I run Greetings from South Central, a community-based arts education non-profit dedicated to the youth of South Central Los Angeles.

Greetings’ mission is to promote, advocate for, and foster experiences that enable the South-Central L.A. community to participate in the arts and culture.

Our vision is to inspire and cultivate the next generation of artists and community leaders in South-Central L.A.

We work with youth ages 13-18, hosting art-focused field trips and workshops, guiding high school students in developing their college portfolios, and introducing them to the arts sector in Southern California, as well as creative career pathways.

Teaching Philosophy

Teaching Philosophy

My goal is to provide students the tools to actively participate in arts & culture and connect with their community. I believe in promoting positive engagement through the exploration of art, embracing diversity, and ensuring that students feel valued and supported in their artistic development.

I have facilitated courses and workshops with students in various disciplines, including painting, printing, sewing, photography, bookmaking, needlepoint, and more.

I also write curricula and lead art workshops for museums and cultural centers.
